COURSE OVERVIEW.

This workshop is a fast, focused entry point into Unreal Engine 5 — designed for 3D artists, game artists, and game developers who need to add real-time 3D fluency to their toolkit without committing to a multi-month program.

In four intensive days of live instruction, you move from opening the engine for the first time to building, lighting, texturing, and rendering a complete cinematic environment. Day 1 grounds you in the editor, navigation, project structure, and the static mesh / skeletal mesh distinction that defines every Unreal pipeline. Day 2 takes you into world building with the Landscape, Foliage, and Water systems used on AAA games and virtual production sets. Day 3 moves into PBR materials and the Material Editor — the workflow studio tech artists use every day. Day 4 closes the loop with Sequencer, Cine Cameras, and Movie Render Queue, so you leave the workshop with a finished cinematic shot and a clear mental model of how the engine works in production.

This is not a recorded library you'll watch one-third of. It is twelve hours of live instructor-led training, taught by an Epic Games Authorized Instructor, sized to fit around a working week.

"Open the engine on Monday. Build your first real-time scene by Thursday."

What You Will Learn

By the end of this workshop, you will have hands-on experience across the foundational Unreal Engine 5 production pipeline — from setting up a clean project to delivering a rendered cinematic shot.

  • Navigate Unreal Engine 5 with confidence — editor anatomy, project structure, asset import workflows from Maya / Blender / 3ds Max, and the static mesh vs. skeletal mesh decision that defines every pipeline.

  • Build cinematic environments from scratch using Unreal Engine's Landscape, Foliage, and Water systems — the same toolset used on AAA games, virtual production stages, and large-scale architectural visualization.

  • Author production-grade PBR materials using the Material Editor, Master Materials, and Material Instances — the parametric workflow studio tech artists rely on.

  • Compose and render finished cinematic shots using Sequencer, Cine Cameras, and Movie Render Queue — the same tools behind The Mandalorian and AAA cinematics.

COURSE BREAKDOWN

An introduction to Unreal Engine 5's editor, project structure, viewport navigation, and the core asset distinction (static mesh vs. skeletal mesh) that defines every downstream workflow.

Foundations of Unreal Engine — Interface, Navigation & Asset Systems

Day 01

26/05/2026

Construct expansive, believable environments using Unreal Engine's native world-building toolset, populate them with optimized vegetation, and add cinematic water — all in real time, no third-party plugins required.

Building Immersive Worlds — Landscape, Foliage & Water Systems

Day 02

27/05/2026

Move from grey-box scenes to photorealistic surfaces using the Material Editor, Master Materials, and the parametric Material Instance workflow used by studio tech artists across film and games.

Physically Based Rendering (PBR) Materials & Look Development

Day 03

28/05/2026

Compose and render a finished cinematic sequence using Sequencer — the same tool behind The Mandalorian and Avatar: The Way of Water — and export broadcast-quality output ready for your reel.

Cinematic Storytelling — Sequencer, Cine Cameras & Movie Render Queue

Day 04

29/05/2026

"Mahmoud was one of the instructors of the 5-day Unreal training "Learning for Tomorrow". I was impressed by his vast knowledge of everything Unreal, he left no question unanswered and guided us safely through the sometimes challenging topics. His background as an architect also helped to cover very specific workflows from the BIM realm. I appreciated this a lot..."

— Winfried Schwan, 3D GIS Creator, Atos

LEARN METHOD.

NOETA's holistic education fosters deep understanding and practical skills through a unique learning cycle integrating theory, demos, and hands-on projects, delivered via a flexible hybrid model.

This comprehensive learning cycle is powered by our Hybrid Learning Model, which combines the best of both worlds:

Live Instruction: Engage in real-time sessions with expert instructors, ask questions as concepts are introduced, receive immediate feedback, and take part in interactive discussions that clarify complex topics and connect theory to practical use.

Live Lab Sessions: Move from theory to execution through dedicated hands-on lab sessions. During these labs, learners work directly on their projects while instructors provide close guidance, live feedback, and targeted corrections. This environment mirrors a professional studio setting, allowing participants to troubleshoot issues, refine their work, and develop problem-solving skills with expert support at every stage.
