COURSE OVERVIEW.
Before digital imagery scaled, the production designer, art director, cinematographer, and director shaped the set together — in the same room, for weeks of pre-production. Then "we'll fix it in post" replaced the conversation, and the art department was quietly pushed out of the loop.
Real-time technology is rewinding that. Twinmotion — built on Epic Games' real-time foundation — speaks the language of CAD drawings and the director's camera at the same time. Move a wall, light it, change the time of day, and show it to the director in the same conversation, not the same week.
This 2-day workshop is built for the people who design what the camera sees: production designers, set decorators, concept artists, and previs artists. You'll work through a complete pipeline — importing set models via Datasmith from Rhino, SketchUp, Revit, or 3ds Max, dressing the scene from a film-grade asset library, lighting it with a sun system that knows the time and place of your shoot, composing shots that match your DP's lens kit, and delivering pitch-ready stills, animated previs, and interactive walkthroughs.
By the end, you won't just know Twinmotion. You'll have a workflow that puts the art department back where it belongs — in the conversation, before the build crew arrives.
"The same engine powering Hollywood. Now taught at NOETA."
What You Will Learn
Across two days, you'll move through the full Twinmotion pipeline the way a real art department uses it — importing set models, dressing environments, lighting for camera, composing shots to your DP's lens kit, and delivering film-quality output the director can actually approve from.
Import complete 3D set models via Datasmith Direct Link from SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, 3ds Max, and Cinema 4D — turning CAD drawings into navigable visualization in minutes, not hours.
Apply PBR materials, finishes, and Megascans surfaces to set pieces — validating the production designer's palette and mood board on screen before any physical material is sourced.
Construct cinematic lighting using Twinmotion's Sun & Sky System, Area Lights, and HDRI environments — previewing how a set reads on camera at any time of day or location before scouting starts.
Compose director-ready shots using Twinmotion's Cinematic Camera System — matching focal length, depth of field, and aspect ratio to your DP's actual lens kit before stage day.
Produce animated previs sequences with the Sequence Editor — blocking action, camera moves, and coverage for the director before crew is hired and stage time is paid for.
Deliver pitch-ready output — photorealistic stills, cinematic videos, 360° panoramas, and interactive Presenter walkthroughs — integrated directly into shot lists, lookbooks, and stakeholder reviews.

LEARN METHOD.
NOETA's holistic education fosters deep understanding and practical skills through a unique learning cycle integrating theory, demos, and hands-on projects, delivered via a flexible hybrid model.
This comprehensive learning cycle is powered by our Hybrid Learning Model, which combines the best of both worlds:
Live Instruction: Engage in real-time sessions with expert instructors, ask questions as concepts are introduced, receive immediate feedback, and take part in interactive discussions that clarify complex topics and connect theory to practical use.
Live Lab Sessions: Move from theory to execution through dedicated hands-on lab sessions. During these labs, learners work directly on their projects while instructors provide close guidance, live feedback, and targeted corrections. This environment mirrors a professional studio setting, allowing participants to troubleshoot issues, refine their work, and develop problem-solving skills with expert support at every stage.
