Unreal Editor for Fortnite
"NOETA has established itself as a go-to destination for mastering Unreal Engine, equipping artists and businesses with the skills needed to thrive in the region's rapidly growing creative economies. — Julie Lottering, Director of Education, Epic Games
COURSE OVERVIEW.
This bootcamp is a production-oriented sprint into one of the most powerful platforms in interactive entertainment: Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) — Epic Games' creator toolchain that ships directly into Fortnite, an ecosystem of hundreds of millions of monthly players and one of the world's largest live entertainment economies.
Across two intensive weeks, you'll build a complete Star Wars–themed cinematic island end-to-end — from gameplay rules to publishing — while operating inside UEFN's IP map rules and Fortnite Creator Economy compliance framework. You'll handle the entire pipeline: editor interface, device-driven gameplay rules, landscape, in-engine modeling, PBR materials, cinematic lighting, character animation, Sequencer, audio, UI, a working introduction to Verse, and final publishing.
This is not a survey course. By Day 10, you walk away with a live, playable island in your Fortnite Creator account — a portfolio piece that simultaneously demonstrates technical skill, IP compliance literacy, and Creator Economy readiness.
The bootcamp is intentionally built for 3D Artists, Game Artists, and Game Developers — practitioners who already think in geometry, materials, and pipelines, and who want to enter the Fortnite Creator Economy with a high-impact themed deliverable rather than a generic test island.
"The same engine that builds Fortnite's biggest moments. Now taught at NOETA."
What You Will Learn
By the end of this bootcamp, you will have hands-on experience across the full UEFN pipeline — from environment construction to a published, themed Fortnite island.
Construct a Star Wars–themed Fortnite island using UEFN's Landscape, in-engine modeling, materials, and asset import pipeline.
Design playable interactivity using UEFN's device library and a working introduction to Verse — triggers, conditions, and gameplay loops.
Direct cinematic moments inside Sequencer using camera animation, character animation, audio integration, and multi-camera editing.
Optimize, version, and publish a finished island under direct instructor mentorship — leaving the bootcamp with a live, shareable creator portfolio piece.
Apply UEFN's IP map rules and Creator Economy compliance to publish IP-themed content legally and successfully through the Fortnite Creator Portal.
COURSE BREAKDOWN
A grounded introduction to UEFN's editor environment, the Fortnite Creator Economy, and — most critically — the IP rule system that determines what you can publish, where, and how. The compliance foundation everything else sits on.
Day 01
06/07/2026
Fortnite Ecosystem, UEFN Interface & IP Map Rules
Devices & Gameplay Rules
Configure gameplay logic — triggers, spawners, scoring, win/lose conditions, team rules — using UEFN's device library and visual event system. By end of day, you have a working gameplay loop running in your project, ready to dress with environment art across the rest of the bootcamp.
Day 02
07/07/2026
Carve a Star Wars planet — Tatooine dunes, Endor forest, or a Coruscant skyline plate — using UEFN's Landscape sculpting and Foliage tools. Player-flow-aware terrain composition from the start.
Day 03
08/07/2026
Landscape Sculpting & Foliage Systems
Build sci-fi architecture directly inside UEFN with modular kits, in-engine modeling, and instancing — the same approach AAA studios use to ship complex levels under tight deadlines.
Day 04
09/07/2026
Modular Modeling & Mesh Workflows
Author the visual identity of Star Wars: imperial gunmetal, ship hull steel, hologram blue, lightsaber glow — through UEFN's Material Editor and Material Instances.
Day 05
10/07/2026
PBR Materials & Surface Authoring
Bring the film-grade lighting language of Star Wars into a real-time Fortnite island using Lumen, motivated key lights, and post-process color grading.
Day 06
13/07/2026
Cinematic Lighting & Mood Design
Direct cinematic moments inside Sequencer — character animation, camera blocking, multi-camera edits — to deliver a finished intro sequence for your island.
Day 07
14/07/2026
Character Animation & Sequencer
Audio Integration & UI Design
Layer spatial audio (lightsaber hums, blaster fire, ambient atmosphere) and design a themed HUD/UI that wraps the player inside the Star Wars universe from the first second of play.
Day 08
15/07/2026
Introduction to Verse
Push past the limits of pre-built devices. A working introduction to Verse — custom functions, event handlers, and logic that lets you extend device behavior beyond what's possible with the device library alone.
Day 09
16/07/2026
Final pass: profile performance, audit against IP rules and Fortnite's publishing checklist, submit through Epic's Creator Portal, and finish the bootcamp with a live, playable island under your name.
Day 10
17/07/2026
Optimization, IP Compliance Review & Publishing
"Mahmoud delivered several Fortnite development bootcamps at BIMM University Berlin through NOETA. The content was excellent — he patiently explained the tools, motivated students to produce better quality work, and approached every aspect of the project professionally. It has been great working with him."

LEARN METHOD.
NOETA's holistic education fosters deep understanding and practical skills through a unique learning cycle integrating theory, demos, and hands-on projects, delivered via a flexible hybrid model.
This comprehensive learning cycle is powered by our Hybrid Learning Model, which combines the best of both worlds:
Live Instruction: Engage in real-time sessions with expert instructors, ask questions as concepts are introduced, receive immediate feedback, and take part in interactive discussions that clarify complex topics and connect theory to practical use.
Live Lab Sessions: Move from theory to execution through dedicated hands-on lab sessions. During these labs, learners work directly on their projects while instructors provide close guidance, live feedback, and targeted corrections. This environment mirrors a professional studio setting, allowing participants to troubleshoot issues, refine their work, and develop problem-solving skills with expert support at every stage.
